The main aesthetic phenomenon of our times lies in a new mode of representing the world, globalization is part of an evolutionary process that also involves the visual arts.
Confronti / Poredenja is the synthesis of a trip, a speech for six voices that denotes the specific peculiarities of two nations, Italy and Serbia, united by a common language, meant as an elective procedure, a collection of visual details.
The six artists involved in the exhibition contribute to the construction of a comparison, which is not synonymous of a dichotomy but it is a passing of the torch, a speech in which each protagonist learns and shares a different idiom, where the technique is the common denominator that builds visual architectures.
According to the French philosopher Nicolas Bourriaud: “What is called altermodernity is precisely the emergence, in the beginning of XXI century, of a new cultural precipitate, or even the formation of a mobile population of artists and thinkers who choose to go in the same direction. A common way, an exodus. ”
Art is an integral part of an unstoppable process of creolization: artists carry their culture, their roots, and then they are able to share their knowledge and integrate it with the experience of others within an equal and fair trade.
The three Serbian artists, Marko Gavrilovic, Milija Belic and Ivana Milev, represent three different generations, three different aesthetic, and cultural approaches.
Confronti/ Poredenja is the stratification of heterogeneous visual experiences, the synthesis of two cultures that confront each other melting into a single aesthetic code in order to create new formal and creative solutions.
